Good news; Ireland's discovered a previously American-only phenomenon, Black Friday. I dunno why they call it black; for it seems fairly candyfloss-shaded to me, packed so full of discounted shopping opportunities as it is.
Now that we've cottoned onto this pre-Christmas save-fest, we too can enjoy buying lots of things for less money. And as we all have some more cash than we did last year (seeya, recession), we can spend it with impunity as well.
So, here are 10 particularly good Black Friday deals I've found. Are you gonna be shopping any of 'em?
1. Harvey Nichols
If you want to buy luxury, then you've got between 27th November to 1st December to do so at Harvey Nichols, Dundrum. They have 25% off fashion and accessories in-store as well as 35% off Jimmy Choo shoes - there are exclusions; sunglasses aren't included.
Boots has some of the best Black Friday deals going, especially if you want to buy beauty. Here are three I'd knock in for:
Smashbox All for Eyes: Worth €33; Only €16 (in-store);
No7 Beauty Bundle: Worth €226.05; Only €85.00 (on Boots.ie only)
Babyliss ombre 5737 U hairdryer Gift Set: Was €64.99; Now €25.99 (in-store and on Boots.ie).
All are available 28th November to 1st December.
3. House of Fraser
In addition to Black Friday, HOF will also do Cyber Monday on 1st December with additional bargains, meaning an extended weekend of discounts. Expect up to 40% off selected lines across its fashion, beauty and home departments starting at 8am on Friday.
4. Brown Thomas
Between now and Sunday 30th November, you'll get 20% off at Brown Thomas stores, with some exclusions. No, the Chanel boutique is NOT included, and there's just 10% off on homeware, but it may be the chance to get that bag you were eyeing up, eh?
5. The Body Shop
Get 30% off across the store for Black Friday - some exclusions do apply.
6. Make Up For Ever
An ace way to get hold of something from this brand, from the 28th to 30th November, MUFE is offering 50% off all eye shadows, eye liners, eye lashes, eye pencils, eye primers, Diamond Powders, Star Powers and more will be half price both in-store and online at www.MUFE.ie.
