Glitter has its place on any face

Who doesn’t love a bit of glitter come Christmas time? If your answer is “me” then you might want to move on: this week it’s all about the glitz 'n' glam of one of winter’s favourite beauty staples.

Be it subtle or full-on, glitter has its place on any face. It’s just a case of how you choose to wear it. So, without further ado, here’s how to get your sparkle on this Christmas:

Take a leaf out of Chanel’s book from earlier this year by using silver glitter underneath eyes to compliment a defined, winged flick on the top. Wet n Wild’s glitter singles (1) are ideal as they can be applied for a subtle or for a more dramatic finish depending on your preference.

Make an impact with a full-on, disco ball look by applying a base of cream eye shadow such as Bobbi Brown's first and then patting on a complimentary shade of glitter using a cotton bud or flat brush. For added texture, try using a mix of both fine and thick glitters.

Not a fan of faffing with actual glittery pieces? Sparkly lashes give you all the shimmer and shine without the fuss. Ardell’s Rhinestone collection (2) is a great choice if you’re in the market for good quality lashes that are more glam than pantomime dame.

Give your skin an added twinkle with a dusting of glimmering highlighter. I love Make Up For Ever's Diamond powder in White/Gold (3) or Champagne for highlighting cheek bones, but the formula is versatile enough to be used on lips, eyes, cheeks, or whatever else you want to add a gleam to.

Glitter gloss isn’t just for tweens; get in on the action with a festive cranberry shade or jazz up a normal lipstick with a gold-flecked option. For look-at-me lips Mac Dazzleglass (4) is the only way to go.
