This type of makeup looks better the longer you wear it
Neutral-toned, smoky shadow on SJP’s eyes along with some clever contouring added definition and a warm glow to her complexion and were the perfect foil to the lace top and shimmering, gold swing skirt she wore to the Diane Von Furstenberg Awards last week.
Sleek, straight hair and sun-kissed skin finished things off. This type of makeup is ideal for holidays or warm summer nights out on the town as it’s low maintenance and actually looks better the longer you wear it. To recreate her look, start with a creamy base such as Estée Lauder Double Wear All Day Glow BB SPF 30 (1) applied with fingertips, starting from the center of the face and blending out towards temples, forehead and jawline.
A light-reflective concealer blended into the inner corner of eyes, brow bone, cheekbones and brow bone will highlight skin in a natural way and acts as a counterpoint to the bronzer later on.
Give cheeks a hint of colour with Stila Convertible in Gladiola (2); orange tones like this work especially well with tanned skin. Finish with a dusting of pressed or loose powder to set your base and then, using a large fluffy brush apply a bronzer, (I love Guerlain Terracota) in a three shape from forehead, to underneath cheekbones and along the jawline.
For super quick, smoky eyes you don’t have to worry about, Shiseido shimmering cream eye shadow in Sable (3) is a great choice. Use a synthetic brush or finger tips to blend this across the top lid and underneath then follow with a black liner and mascara for definition.
For lips, another dab of your Stila Convertible Colour will bring the look together and add a nice sheen too.
