Vaara by penhaligons

What Penhaligon's charges in price it makes up for in character. A case in point? Vaara, new in at Brown Thomas, Dublin.

From €110 for 50ml, this is an Indian-inspired spritz that combines - of all bonkers ingredients to put in a fragrance - quince, carrot and coriander seeds as well as your more expected florals in the form of Bulgarian and Moroccan rose compounds plus some woods and resins in the base.

Sounds intriguing.

I shall be heading BT-wards for a spritz. You?

I had an ould squirt of this the other day - it's really nice, very fresh, slightly spicy (now that I write that down, I hadn't realized it had carrots in it, must have another go to see if it smells like carrot cake). I reckon you'd like it.

I looooooove their Juniper Sling.
