Rosanne Hewitt Cromwell's September Girls picks

The floury-handed wonder behind baking blog Like Mam Used to Bake, Rosanne Hewitt Cromwell's first book (see a sneak-preview of the cover top right) will debut this autumn, and we can't wait.

1. Feast: A Dinner Journal

I have a slight (read humongous) cookbook and food magazine addiction. I like to add to my collection far too often so I now have a rule that I can only buy the ones that I really want. It’s either that or move the husbag out to make room for more.

Top of my must read list this month is a new quarterly offering from Donal Skehan, Feast: A Dinner Journal. Celebrating artisan food producers from around the country, Donal captures their story beautifully through his photographs and the styling by Sharon Hearne-Smith leaves me wanting to move in.

2. Betsey Johnson Paris Teapot Cup Ring

I have been kept awake at night thinking about this beaut ever since I clapped eyes on it. If you take a looksee in my kitchen presses you will see that pretty china cups are a weakness of mine. This ring combines two of my great loves, pretty teaphernalia and blinging jewellery. The magpie in me won’t rest until this pretty adorns my paw.

3. Afternoon Tea at the Westin Dublin

One of my favourite treats is to indulge in afternoon tea. Not much can beat a few hours luxuriating over tea and cake. Now that a chill is returning to the air it is the perfect time to indulge. I have tried a few hotels in the city and next on my list is the Westin. I have heard great things about their A Most Peculiar Afternoon Tea which includes a Hendrick’s G and Tea cocktail served in a teapot.

4. Let Them Eat Cake Print, I Love Mayo

I am a big fan of Jane Steger-Lewis’ prints and was delighted when a friend gifted me her ‘Aw go on’ print, which always raises a giggle from visitors to my kitchen. I now have my eye on the Let Them Eat Cake print and think it would make a perfect addition to my walls. Given that I am never happier than when I am stuffing people full of lovely cake it is the perfect mantra for me.

5. Navy Retro Apron, A Room In The Cottage

A girl can never have too many aprons, especially when they are as pretty as this one. I love a functional apron to save me from the avalanche of flour I create when I bake. But, when it comes to entertaining I like to have something a little special to throw on over a dress that doesn’t make me look like Daisy the kitchen maid. This retro floral print apron is pretty enough to wear on its own, but don’t worry, I wouldn’t subject my guests to that.
